Check your Grill’s Propane Level Using Only Hot Water

Ever run out of propane in the middle of a barbecue?  It’s the worst-case scenario that you want to avoid.  Use this simple trick to check your grill’s propane level and you’ll never run out of propane for your grill again.

Some grills don’t have a gas gauge.  Some people don’t have time to order an aftermarket gas gauge.  Some people would rather spend their hard-earned cash on a prime cut of meat for the grill.

No matter what you reason, here is an easy way to check the fuel level in your tank before you fire up the grill using nothing but a little water and the laws of thermodynamics.

1.  Remove the tank from the grill.

2.  Bring a cup or so of water to a boil in a small saucepan.  Tip the tank at a 45 degree angle and pour the water over the side of the tank.

3.  Feel the metal with your hand.  Where the metal is warm – the tank is empty.  Where the metal is cool – the tank has propane.

Now why didn’t we think of that?
